💙Our Hygiene Pantries Are Beginning to Grow Thanks to Community Support!
We`re thrilled to shared that our shelves now have their first wave of essential items, thanks to the incredibly generous donations from Julia Barrington, Esquire.
Because of her support, we now have:
-200 small black bags ready to be filled with hygiene essentials
-200 body wipes
-40 hand warmers (four 10-packs)
-100 deodorant wipes
-100 toothbrushes
These supplies are a huge step toward meeting the day-to-day needs of our unsheltered neighbors and they`ve already brought new life to our shelves.
But we still have a long way to go.
To keep both of our Hygiene Pantries consistently stocked, we are seeking monthly sponsors.

Every time we host a driver’s license reinstatement clinic… the line gets longer. And the need gets greater.
Here’s what we’ve seen right here in Columbia:
📊 Clinic Growth Over Time
• Aug 2023: 219 participants
• Jun 2024: 291 participants
• Feb 2025: 439 participants
• Nov 2025: 408 participants (in just 6 hours!)
These aren’t just numbers.
They’re people.
Parents. Providers. Job seekers. Caregivers.
Neighbors who want to move forward but are being held back by a fee, a court cost, or documents they can’t afford.
And that’s where Rainy Day Fund attempts to step in.
For 5 years, we’ve been helping to remove the financial barriers that stand between people and stability, helping them get licenses back, obtain vital records, and rebuild their lives with dignity.

A huge thank-you to Power In Changing!
Today, Rainy Day Fund received our very first hygiene pantry donation and it was an incredibly meaningful one. Power In Changing generously donated 10 boxes of Poise menstrual pads and reusable THINX period underwear, ensuring that community members who rely on our Hygiene Pantries have access to essential period products.
Menstrual care is not optional, it`s a matter of health, dignity, and safety. Donations like these help ensure that no one in our community has to choose between managing their period and meeting other basic needs.
We`re deeply grateful for this partnership and for Power In Changing`s commitment to dignity-focused, community-centered care. When organizations come together, we create systems of stability and compassion for people too often overlooked.
