Many people assume that restoring a driver`s license is simply a matter of paying a fee.
In reality, the people we serve have often already completed the difficult part.
Before becoming eligible for reinstatement, many clients have spent months or even years meeting court requirements, resolving compliance issues, completing treatment programs, satisfying legal obligations, and working to rebuild stability in their lives.
By the time they come to Rainy Day Fund, they have often done everything that has been asked of them.
Yet one final barrier remains: the cost of reinstatement.
A few hundred dollars may not seem significant to some, but for someone working to secure housing, support a family, or recover financially, that amount can be the difference between moving forward and remaining stuck.
Our work is not simply paying fees.
It is helping people cross the finish line after they have already demonstrated their commitment to rebuilding their lives.

We are incredibly grateful. ๐
Because of YOU, Rainy Day Fund had a strong showing during Midlands Gives this year and every single donation made a difference.
To everyone who gave, shared, encouraged, and showed up for us, thank you. You are part of something bigger than a single day.
We also want to give a special thank you to The Cheerful Giver and the African American Philanthropy Committee for their generous support and belief in our mission.
Your kindness helps us do what matters most:
๐ Remove barriers
๐ Create opportunities
๐ Support second chances
Midlands Gives may be over, but the work continues and so does the need.

When utility rates go up, our community feels it first.
At Rainy Day Fund, we serve individuals and families already facing tough choices. A proposed rate increase by Dominion Energy could push even more households into crisis.
We encourage everyone to join the upcoming webinar from South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center, today, at 6 pm, to learn whatโs being proposed and how you can share your voice with the Public Service Commission of South Carolina.
Stay informed. Speak up. Our community depends on it.
SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center (https://www.scjustice.org/)
"We are hosting an upcoming webinar about Dominion Energy`s proposal to raise utility rates. They will be having a public hearing through the Public Services Commission (PSC) in Columbia on May 12 and possibly the 13th if there are many individuals who would like to give public comment. We will provide an overview of the general rate hike, the impacts, and how to share your testimony to the PSC."
